What is a Packing Employee?

A Packing Employee is someone who is involved in packing, stickering and preparing products for shipment. As a Packer, you do mostly repetitive work where you perform a small number of operations over and over again. You are responsible for the final part of the production process.

Tasks of a Packer

As a Packer Employee, your work consists mainly of packing products. Although the pasics of all packing activities are the same, the activities as a packer may differ form each other.

  • Setting up pakcing machines
  • Folding and packing boxes
  • Sticking doze and packages
  • Providing packages with protective material sucha as straw or Stryofoam flakes
  • Assembling (semi) manufactured products
  • Quality and quantity control of products
  • Handling of rejected products
  • Stacking of packages and pallets
  • Preparing packed goods for shipping
  • Replenishing packaging materials
  • Identifying and reporting technical problems
  • Tidying up and cleaning the work area
  • Administrative processing of orders

What traing can you start with here?

When you start working as a packing assistant, you have a secondary vocational education (MBO) level. In addition, you are able to perform physical work for a longer period of time, working accurately and neatly. For example in the field of safety or hygiene.

What is the salary of a Packing Employee?

When you start working within this position, the hourly wage will be around €12 and the monthly salary will be around €2000. This salary often depends on knowledge, age and experience. You will see that the salary increases the longer you work or specify yourself in a particular field.
