Logistics work

In a logistics job, you are responsible for the flow of goods, for example as a truck driver, logistics employee but of course also as a forklift driver. In essence, it is about transporting goods from A to B correctly. During this process it is of course important to monitor quality and prevent loss.

What logistics jobs are there?

Logistics jobs are diverse and there are plenty of them! For example, you can work as an Order Picker in the warehouse, arrange the internal transport of goods as a Forklift Driver or go into the country as a Truck Driver to transport goods. Below are some of our logistics jobs:

Truck Driver

A truck driver is the driver of a truck. Driving license C is required to drive the truck. Driving license CE is often mentioned in job postings. Because driving license E is required to drive the combination of a tractor and a trailer.

Forklift Driver

The forklift driver is the driver of forklift or forklift truck. These are widely used to move loaded pallets within warehouses and yards, among other things. Forklift drivers assist in loading and unloading trucks or placing pallets on elevations. With a forklift certification, you are a sought-after job seeker. There are many logistics companies looking for forklift drivers.

Warehouse Employee

The Warehouse Employee works in a warehouse and is responsible for, among other things, loading and unloading trucks and putting away products in the warehouse. A warehouse worker is similar to a logistics worker however a warehouse worker is not involved in logistics. As a warehouse worker you can end up working at a large store, a large factory or a distribution center.

Orderpicker

The ideal Order Picker is a go-getter and likes to roll up his sleeves. In this logistical role, you will collect orders and make sure that they are shipped out on time. During these activities, you keep your eyes open for deviations in the warehouse. So that everything remains neat and orderly for you and your colleagues.

Reachtruck Driver

A Reachtruck Driver operates a reach truck. This is similar to a forklift except that the reach truck has a longer arm and is more compact. This allows the reach truck to store goods in much higher places and drive through narrower aisles. You often see the reach truck in warehouses with high racking.

Delivery Driver

The delivery driver (courier) is a logistics position in which one picks up and delivers packages or mail. The delivery driver is equipped with a van, car or bicycle. Delivery drivers work for almost all companies. Most work for logistics companies such as PostNL, DHL, UPS, GLS, etc. But delivery drivers also work for mail order companies such as Bol.com, Albert Heijn or Coolblue and finally you have delivery drivers working for food delivery services such as Thuisbezorgd, Deliveroo, local eateries and UberEats.

Logistics Teamleader

As a logistics team leader, you have rich duties. You start by preparing and distributing the work of the logistics team. This way the team can start immediately when it arrives at the warehouse. In addition, the team leader checks whether the work is carried out in the right way and speed. In addition to checking the work, the team leader also controls the inventory of the warehouse, monitors the receipt and storage of goods, and records the incoming and outgoing goods. Together with other team leaders or logistics colleagues, you will discuss the improvement of the process or sub-processes in order to create the optimal working environment and operations.

Veelgestelde vragen in de productie

Werken in de productie biedt veel gezelligheid aangezien je meestal aan het werk bent in een groot team. Je zal veel samen kunnen werken in teamverband! Aangezien er ontzettend veel vraag is voor personeel in de productie branche, zit er altijd wel een baan voor jou bij!

Allereerst hangt het salaris wat jij gaat verdienen af van verschillende factoren. Zo verschilt het salaris per functie en per werkgever. Daarnaast is jouw leeftijd en werkervaring vaak ook een factor die bepaald wat jij gaat verdienen. Neem eens een kijkje bij een van de vacatures. Bij veel van deze vacatures staat er een salaris indicatie die jou vertellen wat je ongeveer kunt verwachten.

De productie is een proces wat dag en nacht door loopt, de meeste bedrijven zijn dan ook 24 uur per dag 7 dagen in de week open. Het is dus belangrijk dat je flexibel ingesteld bent. Zo zijn de meeste functies in ploegendiensten, maar er zijn ook vacatures in dagdiensten. Deze werktijden staan vermeld bij de vacatures!

Werkervaring is binnen de productie branche vaak belangrijker dan een diploma. Wel zijn certificaten vaak wel een pré. Of je een diploma of een certificaat nodig hebt staat op de site bij elke vacature vermeld.
